- Who created these things?
- I did. My name is Talon Dunning, and I'm a professional illustrator in the RPG business. You can learn more about me on my website, The Art of Talon.
- Why did you draw them?
- Why not? Having a visual representation of my characters helps me play them better and helps others picture them. Sometimes I base characters on previously existing illustrations, but most often, I draw them myself. This site is an archive of all the ones that don't suck.
- How do I download the pics to my computer?
- Right-click (control+click if you're using a one-button mouse) on the image and choose "Save Image As..." from the menu. Honestly, you should know this stuff by now.
- When I click on a small image, a GIGANTIC, "hi-rez" image appears. What's with that?
- The hi-resolution images are provided for those who might want to print the images. Note that the images appear much larger on the screen than they will print due to their high resolution. The images are sized to fit (mostly) in the portrait boxes on the various character sheets available on the All-Original Character Sheet Archive.
- Ummm.... Well, I'm, ah, that is... I don't know. Short of cutting it out and gluing to the sheet, I haven't quite figured that one out yet. If you're really interested, you can email me with the name of the portrait and sheet you want to combine and I can do it in Adobe InDesign and make you a new PDF.
- Dude, what's with all the chicks and freaky alien characters?
- The vast majority of these portraits are of my very own characters and characters played by my friends. I tend to play a lot of female and freaky alien characters (and not for the reasons you might think).
- I don't see a portrait that exactly matches my character. Can I commission you to draw him/her?
- Not yet. At some point in the future, I may add a section of the site where you'll be able to place an order for a custom character portrait, but at this point, I haven't decided whether or not I want to open up that can of worms.
- Can I use these drawings on my website or in my publication?
- How can I contact you?
