Original Character Sheet FAQ
- Q: Who created these things and how'd you do it?
- A: The character sheets found on this site were all created by me, fantasy illustrator Talon Dunning using Adobe Photoshop, and either InDesign or PageMaker. You can learn more about me here.
- Q: Why did you create them? What's wrong with the official sheets?
- A: Nothing, if you like boring, generic character sheets designed with as little creative effort as possible. I like my own sheets to look as cool as as the character recorded on them and official sheets are rarely adequate. While my designs are certainly based on the official sheets, with the exception of the World of Darkness sheets, the designs are 100% original. I've tried very hard to improve on the official design in every way.
- Q: How do you choose which games you'll make a sheet for?
- A: I create these sheets as I need them for my own games, so if the selection is a little haphazard, its just because I've played a lot of games over the years. I didn't even include some of he really odd ones.
- Q: Can I use your sheet(s) on my website?
- A: Sure, as long as I get credit for them. At least provide a link back here.
- Q: Why do some sheets have a font listed with them?
- A: It's because the font I used to create that sheet wouldn't imbed in the PDF and must be loaded on your computer in order for the sheet to look right. If you want to use a sheet with a required font, just download and install the listed TrueType font first.
- Q: I'm interested in getting you to create a sheet for a particular game. Can you do that?
- A: Maybe. It depends on what kind of time I have and how much you're willing to pay for it. Contact me, and we can discuss it.
- Q: Your character sheet is confusing. Can you explain it to me?
- A: Sure. I've created the sheets with specific details in mind that aren't always obvious. If you have a question, feel free to email me about it.
- Q: Wow, that TORG sheet is HUGE! WTF?
- A: TORG is a big game. Plus that sheet has a lot of optional pages, giving you different methods for recording things like spells and miracles. Honestly, all you really need is the first two pages. Everything else is optional.
- Q: "Bygones?" Seriously?
- A: Yep. As I said, I create these sheets as I develop a need for them. As I recently found myself in need of a sheet for a character created using the rules in The Bygone Bestiary, I made a Bygones sheet.
